Principles of Design research

Our piece of art was made by Grant Wood and was called The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. He used a lot balance in his work with all the houses and had a lot of emphasis on the road because of the leading lines. There was also implied movement with the horse Paul Revere was riding. The movement of the horse made the image look a little less like it was made out of toys. The proportions were also important in the piece with the big mountain in the back in the white church which also showed contrast from the brown houses and green grass.

We got some feedback from people saying they liked our snowflakes and the idea of the snow but thought the shingles didn't look to much like shingles.
I thought Nikki's work (a helicopter) was successful because it had an actual moving parts and really looked like a helicopter.

Fabric Drawings

I thought drawing the fabric went well. It reminded me a lot of when we drew the sticks but in a completely different way. It felt a little different because it was more fluid movements compared to rough movements of the sticks. It was really fun to draw the fabric I love doing shading and really like tuesdays when we draw because drawing and shading are my favorite things to do.

Feedback on Sculpture

In our sculpture, Winter Home they liked our snowflakes and the fact that it was snowing. They also liked the fact that you can see into the house and that there were 2 people in there. One suggestion they had though was to make the shingles on the house look more realistic and to do something more with the tower on the top.

Four Seasons

Pile of sticks

I thought it was a really interesting and a bit frustrating activity it was hard to make the lines look like real sticks and not just a mess. I thought it was actually fun and challenging to do this. I really like these tuesday activities. I felt that the outcome of my drawing was really good and i really liked the way it looked in the end.
